Privacy notice
We collect as little as we can: your email address and, only if you choose, your due month, a founding-spot reservation and a one-line answer. The money tool's answers never leave your browser.
This notice explains how Firstspan handles personal data under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
Who we are and how to contact us
Firstspan is run from Singapore. Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at hello@firstspan.sg.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist
- Your email address (required).
- Your due month or baby's birth month (optional).
- Whether you reserved a founding spot (optional).
- Your answer to "What's your biggest worry right now?" (optional). Please don't include health details.
- Whether you ticked the box for email updates, and when.
- The page you signed up from, and which test price you saw, if any.
On the pricing page
We record three anonymous events: that the page was viewed, that "Get the full plan" was clicked, and that a spot was reserved, with the test price shown. To count visitors rather than clicks, your browser keeps a random code and the price you were shown in its local storage. The code isn't linked to your email or name.
The money and deadlines tool
Your answers (due date, citizenship, and so on) are processed entirely in your browser. They are never sent to us. If you use "Copy link with my answers", your answers are put in the link after the "#". Browsers don't send that part to any server, but anyone you share the link with can read it.
Security and abuse prevention
To stop abuse, we count requests per network address for one minute. We don't store your IP address: we store only a scrambled, one-way code made from it with a secret key, and delete it within about an hour.
Visitor statistics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across sites.
We set no cookies. We don't use advertising pixels or trackers.
Why we collect it
- To tell you when Firstspan opens, and about your founding spot if you reserved one.
- To send occasional updates, only if you ticked that box.
- To understand what parents worry about and which price seems fair, so we build the right thing.
We won't use your data for anything else without asking you, and we never sell it.
Where it's stored
The site and the waitlist database are hosted by Cloudflare (Cloudflare Pages and D1). Cloudflare processes the data for us under its data processing terms. Its servers may be outside Singapore; where data is transferred, we rely on Cloudflare's contractual protections to keep a standard comparable to the PDPA.
How long we keep it
We keep your waitlist details for up to 24 months after you sign up, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. Anonymous pricing events are kept only as long as we need them to read the price test.
Your choices and rights
- Stop emails: every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email us.
- Withdraw consent or delete your data: email hello@firstspan.sg from the address you signed up with. We'll delete it and confirm.
- See or correct your data: email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
If something goes wrong
If a data breach is likely to harm you, we'll tell you and the Personal Data Protection Commission as the law requires.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and, for significant changes, email people on the waitlist.
